Where time stretches and everything changes
Birth is a threshold - a crossing from one life into another.
It's tender, intense, sacred. In this room time slows. Hands steady. Breath gathers.
Absolutely nothing is preformed or perfected. Here you are simply becoming.
My role is to witness with care - attentive but unobtrusive, allowing the moment to unfold as it will. The photographs that emerge are soft, honest, and deeply felt. A record of arrival and the strength that lives in the quiet.
From the moment you book, you'l have clear communication and steady support leading up to your due date.
Throughout labor and delivery, I move gently and intuitively, guided by years in birth spaces and my training as a doula. I photograph in homes, birth centers, and hospitals, with respect for physical and emotional boundaries.
Light, breath, hands, atmosphere - the small details make your story. Those are the moments that become the memory.
1: Say hello - send a note with your due month and birth plan preferences. We'll make space for questions and talk through what feels supportive.
2: The birth - once labor begins, I join you when you're ready - quietly and without pressure. My role is to witness, allowing your story to unfold.
3: The images - you'll receive a full gallery of hand-edited photographs that honor the truth and tenderness of this moment - the beginning of everything.
how it works
Birth can be intense, still, chaotic, or surprisingly quiet - and it can shift between all of those within minutes.
My role adapts to the space. you're in. Some mothers want a quiet witness; others want gentle verbal support or someone who can read the room and step in when needed.
Before your due month, we talk through what helps you feel grounded, what you dont want photographed, and how you prefer I participate.
When its time, I move softly and stay aware - of light, of sound, of privacy, and of the support already around you. The goal is not to direct but to honor: the hands that hold you, the strength you didn't know you had, and the moment you crossed into motherhood.
Her warmth, talent and creativity shine through her photography. It can be kind of stressful or awkward to be in front of a camera, but talking with Jen feels like sinking in to a warm bubble bath- relaxing, totally at ease and unselfconscious. Thank you for helping us capture the different seasons of our family ♥️

Q: What if my baby arrives earlier or later then expected?
A: I'm on call for you the 5 weeks surrounding your due date, and babies arrive in their own time. You don't need to worry - I plan for flexibility.
Q: Are you familiar with the local hospitals or midwives?
A: Yes, I've documented births at the hospitals in both Missoula and Kalispell, and alongside local midwives. If I'm working with a team or location that is new to me - I always connect in advance to ensure I understand policies and expectations.
