When you have a child, you know they have a secret reserve of unlimited energy. That’s why you need a spot where you can wear them out any day of the week! Luckily, Missoula is packed with amazing playgrounds where you can channel all of their energy without breaking the bank. As a Missoula family photographer, I spend a lot of time connecting with families over their favorite local places. Here are the Missoula playgrounds I think you are going to love!

Get Out Of The House And Burn Some Energy At These Fantastic Missoula Playgrounds

McCormick

600 Cregg Ln, Missoula, Montana 59801

McCormick is a charming park that I love pretty much any time of year. During the summer, the swimming pool is the perfect place to cool off. There’s also a children’s fishing pond, an accessible fishing pier, and an interpretive trail. The playground itself is amazing, and it has equipment for all Missoula children of all abilities. Your child can spend hours running up the hills, flying down the slide, or hiding in the treehouse. You’ll quickly realize what they mean when they say this is a playground for everyone!

Franklin Park

2100 10th St, Missoula, Montana 59801

While the playground at Franklin Park might seem like your standard playset, it’s the surrounding park that makes this Missoula spot so wonderful! You can pack a picnic and enjoy it in a shaded pavilion before taking a stroll around the trails. There is a basketball court, a baseball diamond, and a spot for horseshoes. As the weather heats up, they open up the splash deck where your child can cool off while making new friends. And once you’re done with all that, the playground is going to be the best spot to wind down.

LaFray Park

606 LaFray Lane, Missoula, Montana 59801

If you want options, LaFray Park has you covered! They have two large play areas spread out across the grounds, giving you options for kids of all ages. Toddlers can spend some time crawling through the bones of a dinosaur while older kids can race down the nearby slides. You can pack a picnic and eat lunch in the park before it’s time for your Missoula child to burn a bit more energy on the playground.

Pineview Park

1010 Pineview Dr, Missoula, Montana 59802

Pineview Park is spread across 4.5 acres and offers endless entertainment! The playground is one of the best for younger kids. Toddlers and preschoolers can conquer the equipment without fear before they take turns going down the slides. Once you are done here, you can walk around the trails and catch some of the best views in all of Missoula. During the winter, this park offers the only natural ice rink in the city. No matter what you’re looking for, I’m positive Pineview is going to be your spot!
