For over 30 years, Families First has been working with the Missoula community to create peaceful households. This organization got its start in 1994 through programs that educated parents about the power of play. They are continuously looking at how they can improve families’ lives, whether they are throwing workshops or engaging in one-on-one coaching. These days, you can find them at the Missoula Public Library, where they regularly create new and exciting exhibits that kids will love. Their goal is to empower parents while encouraging the mental and emotional development of kids.
Services
There are so many services available through Families First Missoula! Chances are, they have just the thing for you. They have some of the best parenting classes around, offering an engaging curriculum as well as community connection. You can find courses that teach you how to foster a healthy parent-child relationship or how to be a supportive dad. They can work with you on modeling healthy behaviors or how to teach imperative life skills to at-risk teens. They also have a program created to heal the intergenerational trauma that has been caused by violence against the Indigenous community. Many of these classes are free, and childcare will be provided.
