When you have a baby, one of the first things you realize is just how sensitive their skin can be. As we get older, we put our skin through a lot. Flashback to those junior high years we spent wearing yesterday’s mousse foundation and the thickest layer of Lovespell lotion. And yet, your baby seems to break out in the reddest rash simply because you accidentally looked at the wrong laundry detergent at Costco. If you are looking for a way to protect their sensitive skin, I think Butterscotch Babies might just be the store for you! As a Missoula newborn photographer, I spend a lot of my time helping parents find the recommendations that work best for them. Here’s why I always recommend this store!
Missoula, Montana
When Bethany Priess had her son, Charleston, she quickly realized she had a dilemma. She wanted organic clothing, but she simply couldn’t find what she was looking for. All the infant clothing either used harsh materials or didn’t match her style. Rather than compromise, she decided she was going to do things her own way! She already had experience from her other two businesses (Outdoorable Kids and Montana Tees), so she decided to use her knowledge to help more parents. And thus, Butterscotch Babies was born! While you can occasionally find the store out and about at pop-ups, their website gives you everything you could need to keep your baby stylish yet comfortable.
Butterscotch Babies offers a bit of everything from graphic tees to cozy sweatpants. What made them famous, however, are their darling bamboo sleepers! These outfits offer adorable patterns and gorgeous colors. You can choose between fuzzy bears, bumbling bees, smiley snails, nighttime constellations, vivid butterflies, and so much more. These sleepers were made with both kids and their parents in mind. While your baby can avoid all the rashes and discomfort from standard sleepers, you’ll be able to breeze through late-night diaper changes with their easy zippers. As your baby gets a little older, you can shop for two-piece sets that can grow with them. Many of their patterns are available as bamboo hoodies, giving your child a way to wear their interests quite literally on their sleeves!
If you need a great way to rep the state, the Butterscotch Babies sister site, Montana Tees, is perfect! Many of their pieces are geared toward kids, but you can normally find something for yourself! It’s my favorite store for people of all ages.
Are you the type of person who prefers to see things in person before it’s time to buy? Then head on over to the Butterscotch Babies event page, where you can find a schedule of their pop-ups! You can buy some onesies while also checking out other Missoula artisans!
If you are looking for a spot with baby-safe materials, Butterscotch Babies is about to be your new favorite store! Now, you just need a way to show off those picture-perfect pieces. Oh, hi, how are you doing? As a Missoula newborn photographer, I am wild about working with parents to plan sessions so they can celebrate all the moments that matter the most. If you want to learn more about scheduling your session, send me a message so we can get the conversation started!
