Throughout your birth, there’s a good chance that you want to be the one in control of the entire situation. This is something you’ve dreamt about for years, and you don’t want to have the plans completely derailed by a provider who puts their own tight schedule ahead of your needs. If you are looking for a low-stress, home-like environment where you can have the delivery you’ve always wanted, I would love to tell you why I think you will adore Roots Birth Center in Missoula! As a Missoula maternity photographer, I have gotten the chance to work with this crew firsthand. Here’s what sets this team apart.
2831 Fort Missoula Road, Building 2, Suite 232, Missoula, Montana 59804
While the birth center at Roots might be brand new, the actual practice has been around for quite some time! This amazing group of certified nurse-midwives is passionate about giving women back their voices throughout their birth. The Missoula team features five different midwives, so you can pick the one that’s right for you. The entire center also maintains a collaborative partnership with Origin Health, a high-risk Maternal Fetal Medicine practice, to ensure that you always have the best answers, no matter what you are experiencing.
Roots Birth Center just opened their doors in September of 2025. Right from the beginning, they’ve made it clear that this is a spot where women will feel safe and empowered. The venue has three separate rooms that you will be able to use throughout your delivery. Each of these spaces is modern and comfortable with earth-based themes that will help you maintain your cool. Throughout your labor, you will have access to a large bed where you can rest, plus each room has its own birthing pool. You will additionally have tools like birthing balls and swings. Once your baby arrives, you will be given all the time you need for skin-to-skin. Then, once the midwives are positive you and your baby are on your way to recovery, you will be released to rest in your own bed.
Your care with Roots Birth Center doesn’t stop once you are released. Throughout the postpartum stage, you will have two visits where your midwife will sit down with you and have an in-depth conversation about your recovery. They can guide you through any issues you might have with lactation, using a judgment-free approach to ensure you have solutions that actually work. Their team can also provide your annual well-visits, including breast and pelvic exams, blood work, cervical cancer screening, and family planning.
If you are looking for the right spot for your delivery, I think you will love Roots Birth Center Missoula! This practice is all about giving you back control through delivery.
