As a Missoula family photographer, I’m always struck by how much our energy affects our children. How our bodies hold stress, how our nervous systems speak to one another, even in silence. So many of the families I photograph are in the thick of it. They are navigating parenting, work, relationships, and healing all at once. That’s why places like Somatic Connections are such a gift to our community. Whether you’re seeking tools to help your child regulate big emotions, healing from birth trauma, or simply trying to feel more grounded in your day-to-day life, Somatic Connections offers support that’s gentle, science-informed, and incredibly human. The work won’t worry about fixing what’s broken. They focus on reconnecting to what’s already within you. The space feels calm, safe, and refreshingly real. And for many families, this becomes the first time they feel truly understood.
By appointment only
Somatic Connections is the practice of Prairie Wolfe, a Certified Sexological Bodyworker and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. Prairie’s work is centered on nervous system regulation, trauma integration, pelvic care, and embodied connection, and she brings a calm, wise presence to every session.
Her practice is intentionally quiet, private, and deeply client-led. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that this is a space for slowing down, coming home to yourself, and being held without judgment or expectation.
Somatic Connections offers one-on-one sessions rooted in somatic therapy and bodywork. Prairie uses tools like movement, breathwork, and guided touch to help clients reconnect with their bodies, restore nervous system balance, and gently release held trauma.
For parents, this work often becomes a lifeline. Many come in seeking relief from chronic tension, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm, especially during or after pregnancy, birth, or big life changes. Prairie also specializes in postpartum healing and pelvic integration, offering often overlooked care in traditional systems but deeply needed.
Sessions are slow, intentional, and always paced in partnership with you. There’s no pressure to “perform” or move quickly. Just space to notice, feel, and shift.
What makes Somatic Connections’ work so unique is the way she honors the body as both messenger and healer. Her training in sexological bodywork, somatic experiencing, and nervous system repair allows her to support healing on multiple levels, physical, emotional, and energetic.
Clients often say they leave feeling more grounded, more themselves. And while the work is deeply personal, the ripple effects are real. It provides better boundaries, more ease in parenting, gentler relationships, and a clearer sense of self.
In a world that moves fast, Somatic Connections offers families a chance to slow down and reconnect in meaningful ways. If you’re in a season where you’re focused on creating more calm, connection, and intention at home, this kind of support can make all the difference.
As a Missoula family photographer, I love working with families who are growing together in real, everyday ways. If it’s been a while since you’ve had family photos, or if you’re ready to document this chapter with images that feel natural and joyful, I’d love to help. Let’s create something beautiful together.
