The temps are starting to drop, the leaves are turning colors, and that playlist sure is getting folksy. It can all only mean one thing: autumn is here! If you are anything like me and just can’t get enough of this season, I’m here to help you find out how to make the most of this brief yet magical time. As a Missoula family photographer, I love working with my clients to make each season feel a little extra memorable. Here are the Missoula fall events I love with all my heart!
1515 Spurlock Road, Missoula, Montana 59802
The Fall Gathering happens on the first Saturday of October at the Moon Randolph Homestead. This fall event brings in the best local Missoula talent, from the food to the entertainment. You can enjoy barbecue from Masala, dessert from Bernice’s, and bluegrass from Barncat Country Band. There will also be several raffles, including one just for kids.

3400 Captain Rawn Way, Missoula, Montana 59804
If you just can’t get enough of history, be sure to check out the events around the Fall Harvest Festival hosted by the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula. This annual festival gives you a way to look at how people welcomed fall in the past. You can make homemade apple cider at the apple press, take a tour of some of our most treasured buildings, or watch a demonstration of a sawmill. They will also have food trucks on site!
3010 Duncan Drive, Missoula, Montana 59802
Each year, PEAS Farm hosts their Fall Harvest event for Missoula folks of all ages. This event is completely free to attend and has so many activities you can try out over the next four hours. You can sample some cider, carve a pumpkin, and take a visit to the produce stand. They also encourage you to come in costume to really ring in the season!
Main Street, Stevensville, Montana 59870
I don’t know if it gets any more iconic than the Stevensville Scarecrow Festival. Each year, residents and businesses within the town create scarecrows to compete in a friendly competition. Once they’re all set up, you can stop by for two weeks to vote on your faves. They also have a pumpkin carving competition available for all ages!

170 S Tudor Street, Victor, Montana 59875
Not far from Missoula, the town of Victor hosts a Fall Festival stuffed full of events in Victor Park. For one day, you can stop in and shop from tons of different vendors. As you walk around the markets, you will be treated to live music and food trucks. The organizers are very picky about who they allow into the festival to ensure you have a fabulous selection of local shops.
If you need the best way to enjoy every wonderful second of fall, I think you will really love these Missoula fall events! With all these destinations, you’ll have a season you’ll never want to forget!
