Christmas is such a good time to support your community. The holiday season tends to be driven by big corporations trying to sell you about a million things you don’t need. Meanwhile, that money could go toward supporting the people who make our city so darn wonderful. If you are looking for the very best way to shop local this season, you need to check out a Christmas market. As a Missoula family photographer, I love working with clients to help them find the best spots to make year-round memories. Here are the Missoula Christmas markets I always make a part of my holiday traditions.

If you are the type of person always on the hunt for that one-of-a-kind item, I think you will adore The Prairie Sisters Vintage Market. This annual Christmas market happens throughout each November and brings Missoula the perfect combination of vintage finds and handmade goods. This market goes all across Montana, giving you the very best selection in the entire state. The vendors have all been carefully selected for a curated experience. The market will be available to the general public on the second Saturday of November, with Friday being reserved for Early Bird Access, where you can shop before anyone else!

Every year, Holy Spirit Episcopal Church of Missoula puts together a Christmas market so you get something you just can’t find anywhere else. Throughout the year, they accept donations including holiday decor, vintage items, Christmas books, jewelry, needle and fabric arts, wood-crafted items, and new/regiftable items. Then, on the second weekend of November, they open their doors to the community so you can shop for the perfect finds.

If you are in the mood for a European Christmas experience, be sure to swing by the Missoula County Fairgrounds for the Little Red Truck Cottage Market. This mobile market comes through town twice a year, offering artisan goods during the spring and European-inspired holiday decor throughout the winter. As you shop from an array of local makers, you are going to find handcrafted presents, unique decorations, and an ambiance unlike any other! This shop will also have live music as well as food truck stalls. They offer both general admission and early bird access.
If you are in the mood to shop local this year, these Missoula Christmas markets will make it a breeze! Be sure to plan your visit so you can find some one-of-a-kind presents.
